Departure from Ouarzazate early in the morning.
Ouarzazate is located in the southern High Atlas Mountains. Its location makes it the gateway to the Draa Valley and the Sahara Desert.
For 200 km, a road winds southeast through the lush palm groves of the Draa Valley, towards Zagora.
We will stop along the way to visit the Kasbah, the Koranic library and the pottery workshop of Tamegroute before arriving at M'Hamid El Ghizlane.
After breakfast, we will enter the vastness of the Sahara.
Lunch will be served in the shade of the tamarisk trees. You will be able to enjoy the simplicity and tranquility of desert life, and become somewhat accustomed to traditional nomadic life.
Around 3 p.m., discover new captivating landscapes while passing through a sacred oasis.
Early in the morning, you will watch the sunrise before having breakfast.
We'll then explore Lake Iriqui, located in Iriki National Park near the Algerian border. The vegetation here consists of acacia savannah and wooded steppe. It's home to southern gazelles, Barbary sheep, hyenas, and numerous reptiles such as lizards, snakes, and chameleons.
Lunch will be served in the Berber village of Tazenakht, which specializes in weaving Berber carpets.
To conclude this tour, we will visit the ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this fortified village with ochre walls is a fine example of southern Moroccan architecture. It is also famous for the many films that have been filmed there.
