About Love of the Desert

A nomadic team to guide you in the Sahara

L’Amour du Désert is, first and foremost, a local team, Who is born and a large at the gates of the Moroccan desert. Guides, drivers, cooks, camel guides and companions, we share with you our knowledge of the Sahara, our culture and our way of experiencing the desert.

Every stay is conceived as an encounter: with the landscapes, with the rhythm of the desert, with nomadic traditions, and sometimes also with oneself.

Your guides in the desert

Nomads
experienced and passionate

Brahim, Abidin, Lbachir, Hassan, Lwali, Mohamed, Othman, Mohamed and Mouloud form a team of experienced and enthusiastic nomads. Together, they will guide you in discovering the desert, each with their own role and expertise.

Depending on the stays, the team can provide support, driving, cooking, bivouac management, camels, route planning, and on-site logistics. This simple and collective organisation allows for experiencing the desert in good conditions, with people who genuinely know the terrain.

A local team

We grew up with our families in the desert and we know its paths, its customs, its constraints and its rhythms.

Complementary roles

Guide, chauffeur, cook, camel handler or companion: each contributes in their own way to the smooth running of the stay.

A culture to share

Beyond the journey, we share with you our culture, our traditions, our music, our tea, our meals and our way of experiencing the desert.

A real understanding of the area

The desert demands attention, experience and respect. The team adapts the pace, stages and organisation according to the group and conditions.

Bridges between here and there

An adventure born from a meeting

L'Amour du Désert was born from the meeting between a team of Moroccan Sahara nomads and Colette, a Belgian yoga teacher with a passion for the desert. Together, they conceived a different way to discover the Sahara: retreats based on simplicity, respect, sharing, and authenticity.

Over time, this collaboration has opened up to other facilitators from different backgrounds (yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, therapists, artists, or facilitators) in order to offer varied experiences while preserving the same spirit.

Each stay is therefore the result of a collaboration between the nomadic team, who are the custodians of knowledge of the desert and local culture, and the guides who bring their own approach and sensitivity to it.

Committed carers

Retreats can be led by yoga, Pilates, dance, or meditation instructors, as well as by coaches specialising in wellness, personal development, energy healing, or artistic practices.

Everyone builds their retirement in close collaboration with the nomadic team to offer a deeply human and authentic experience.

A living link between practice and territory

Practices naturally take place at the heart of the desert: silence, walking, bivouacking, encounters with nomads and the simple rhythm of the days become an integral part of the experience.

The desert is not just a backdrop: it fully participates in the transformation experienced by each person.

An organisation built together

Each retreat is jointly prepared by the nomadic team and the facilitator. The nomads lend their knowledge of the territory, their hospitality, and their expertise to the stay, while the facilitator designs the content of the retreat according to their universe, their group, and their intention.

Unique retreats

No two retreats are the same. The theme, pace, activities, walking sessions, moments of silence or sharing are tailored to each project in order to offer a deeply human, simple and authentic experience.
