These terms and conditions explain the operation of booking requests for treks, retreats, 4x4 tours and tailor-made stays offered by The Love of the Desert.
The stays are organised in a traditional, handcrafted way, with a local team, respecting the rhythm of the desert, the real conditions of the terrain and the needs of the travellers.
Booking request
A request sent via the website does not automatically constitute a confirmed booking.
After submitting the form, we will be in touch to verify:
- The type of stay desired;
- the dates or period envisaged;
- the number of participants;
- the group's fitness level;
- specific needs;
- availability;
- the practical organisational conditions.
The booking will only be confirmed in writing by us and, where applicable, upon receipt of the requested deposit.
Types of stays offered
L'Amour du Désert can offer, among other things:
- desert treks;
- internships and retreats;
- 4x4 circuits;
- personalised stays;
- programmes for groups;
- Organised experiences with a local team.
Each stay can be adapted according to dates, number of people, group level and local conditions.
Price and payment
Prices may vary according to:
- The length of stay;
- the number of participants;
- The type of experience;
- the necessary transport;
- meals;
- the level of support;
- special requests;
- the chosen period.
The final price is communicated before booking confirmation.
Payment terms, any deposit, balance, and accepted payment methods will be specified at the time of confirmation.
What is included
Depending on the chosen package, the stay can include:
- local support;
- meals;
- bivouac;
- the route;
- the on-site organisation;
- camels or necessary vehicles;
- The transfer between Marrakech or Ouarzazate and M’Hamid El Ghizlane;
- pre-departure advice.
The exact details of what is included are specified in the proposal sent before confirmation.
What is not included
Unless otherwise stated, generally not included are:
- international flights;
- personal insurance;
- personal expenses;
- unforeseen drinks or purchases;
- any visa fees;
- nights or travel not included in the itinerary;
- any item not stated as included;
- Tips for the nomadic team. In Morocco, it is customary to offer a tip as a thank you for good service.
Programme modification
The desert is a natural environment that sometimes requires adaptation.
The programme can be adjusted according to:
- weather conditions;
- of group security;
- of the state of the pistes;
- of the participants' physical level;
- local constraints;
- availability;
- in any unforeseen situation.
These adjustments are made in the interest of the group and to ensure the smooth running of the stay.
Fitness and traveller's responsibility
Each participant must check that their chosen stay matches their physical condition.
Before departure, it is important to report any useful information that may influence the organisation of your stay: health problems, allergies, medical treatments, reduced mobility, special needs or dietary restrictions.
Each traveller remains responsible:
- of his travel documents;
- of his assurance;
- of his state of health;
- of his personal equipment;
- of compliance with the instructions given on site.
Assurance
It is recommended that each participant has appropriate travel insurance, covering in particular:
- cancellation;
- assistance;
- Repatriation;
- medical expenses;
- travel-related incidents.
L'Amour du Désert cannot be held responsible for the absence of, or insufficient, personal travel insurance on the part of the traveller.
Cancellation by traveller
All cancellations must be communicated in writing.
The conditions for cancellation, refund, or retention of any deposit are specified at the time of booking confirmation.
Due to the bespoke organisation of the stays, some costs may have already been incurred before departure.
Cancellation or amendment by the organisers
In certain exceptional cases, a stay may be modified, postponed or cancelled for reasons beyond our control, including:
- severe weather conditions;
- security issue;
- Major unavailability;
- Unforeseen local event;
- force majeure;
- Inability to properly ensure the stay.
In this case, a suitable solution will be sought with the participants: programme adaptation, postponement, or another proposal.
Respect for the place and the local team
The stays are organised in a spirit of respect, simplicity and meeting.
Each participant undertakes to respect:
- the local team;
- the other travellers;
- the inhabitants;
- The animals;
- the desert;
- the instructions given on site;
- local customs.
Photos and testimonials
During stays, photos can be taken by the team or participants.
No identifiable photos of a participant will be used for communication purposes without their consent.
Testimonials submitted voluntarily may be used on the website or in communication materials, with prior consent if necessary.
Personal data
The data transmitted during booking is used solely to respond to the request, organise the stay and manage the booking.
